History

The Kimcell group of companies that we know today grew from a partnership of experienced management consultants in the 1980s that subsequently formed X-Net Ltd. Although embroiled in the telecoms industry at that time, X-Net moved into the IT sector bringing in all of its proven industry and management skills.

The company was formed to overcome the problem of a lack of vendor independent consultancy practices delivering large scale IT solutions. In the mid ‘90s, X-Net added commercial/procurement capabilities and worked on the commercial processes for some of the earliest, largest and most complex deals in the UK.  X-Net then expanded into the integration of systems to deliver financial systems to meet the needs for globalisation, liberalisation and modernisation of the EU market. Since 2000, X-Net has continued to expand and is well known and respected in the vendor independent consulting community for having some the most experienced and knowledgeable consultants covering a range of technologies.

Towards the end of the 90s conversations outside school gates kicked off discussions that eventually formulated e-mango. e-mango started life on a first floor office in Bournemouth during 2000 to help small firms get straight talking non-technical Internet advice. It was companies like e-mango that initially brought Internet services to the masses. The larger firms did eventually catch-up but usually by acquiring the smaller and more dynamic companies.

The e-mango business model of accumulating a growing level of standard Internet services customers topped by clients wanting bespoke development was already taking shape. Repeating service revenues backed by excellent customer service is how e-mango funds its growth.

A local Internet Service Provider was in difficulties financing its business operations. Through contacts, the client base was acquired and Datacenta Hosting was set up to continue servicing the customers without disruption. With that came an office move for e-mango to its present location.

To provide security for the businesses the group took the decision to purchase its business premises when the opportunity arose. Since 2006, Gild House Ltd now owns the premises from which the group operates from and also rents out the remaining space as serviced offices.

Nuntius Ltd has been around as a dormant company but eventually became the procurement arm of the group in that it purchases hardware and software for the group and its customers.

The latest addition in October 2007 is a 25% stake in JoraPh Consulting, which is a firm specialising in Oracle database consultancy and services.

The Kimcell group has strengths across a wide range of applicable sectors and services. Its ultimate goal is to provide end-to-end services for both the SME and Enterprise customers.
