Peter Neal achieves new accreditation

X-Net Ltd, a Kimcell Company, continues to develop the capabilities of its Service Management Practice, with Peter Neal, an X-Net Consultant, adding the itSMF ISO/IEC 20000 Consultant Certificate to the list of his accreditations in this domain.

For a Service Provider organisation, ISO/IEC 20000 accreditation represents formal acknowledgement that it has implemented Service Management policies, processes and procedures that meet a rigorous international standard.

Such accreditation is not easily attained, but a recent BSI survey revealed a strongly-growing trend as the qualification heads rapidly towards becoming a “must-have” in the IT arena, in the manner of ISO9001. Achieving it requires much hard work on the part of the candidate organisation, but this is smoothed with guidance and coaching from a Certified Consultant. X-Net is in a position to provide just such skills.

Green breakfast for Kimcell

Tim Harris , Managing Director of Kimcell, attended a very informative breakfast meeting organised by Dorset Chamber of Commerce and attended by over 30 key members of the local business community.

The key issues of the meeting covered approaches to environmental practices and energy efficiency. It was very enlightening to hear from Ben Carne from Bowlplex share his experiences of reducing the base electrical costs by address the use of appropriate lighting amongst other things.

Gordon Fong comments "Paul Bateman, Service Manager to Datacenta Hosting, is already taking steps to gain ISO14001 accreditation in Enviromental Management. The benefits of a consolidated approach across our group of companies in terms of cost savings and as part of our corporate social responsibilities are clear to see and borne out by the speakers at the DCCI event. We just need to get on and do it and make it part of the routine of business that Nigel Junt from Packaging, Print and Publishers succinctly conveyed as part of his discussions.

We thank the Dorset Chamber of Commerce for holding this event and look forward to participating in future meetings.
