For a Service Provider organisation, ISO/IEC 20000 accreditation represents formal acknowledgement that it has implemented Service Management policies, processes and procedures that meet a rigorous international standard.

Such accreditation is not easily attained, but a recent BSI survey revealed a strongly-growing trend as the qualification heads rapidly towards becoming a “must-have” in the IT arena, in the manner of ISO9001.
